hypnomassage?

I know of a few holistic folks that have been been brought to a hypnotic trace-like state via massage. Anyone know where I can learn how to pick up this skill?

Take a hypnosis course. That's what I did.

On a side note, the same thing that brings about hypnosis in hearing does so in touch: rhythm. If you get your massage into a rhythmic sort of dance with their body...that will help bring about a deeper state of relaxation and trance consciousness.

But, to really do it well, it helps to add some actual verbal hypnotic skills to it. I use visualization and breathwork with some clients to relax, release, and go deeper into trance. I took the full course offering here: www.imagineit.org/

There's a course offered through NESTA that combines hypnosis and massage: www.nestacertified.com/hypnos...ge.html

This isn't a full-blown hypnosis course. Rather, it's designed for massage therapists who want to take advantage of the trance state often induced during massage.

I'm in the process of taking a hot stone massage course through NESTA, but this is the next course I plan to take.

If you want a good, inexpensive introduction to hypnotherapy, try this home-study course: www.hypnotherapy-training.info/

This is what I started with, though I've since taken other courses. It provides an intro & offers certification.

        hey,

I'm certified in both Hypnotherapy and massage as well as Personal Thinking Patterns and practice in San Francisco. I've done my own version or Hypnomassage for several years and clients have stellar experiences. Yes, since most good bodywork slows down our brainwaves to the speed range of Alpha-Theta, we go into hypnosis naturally, especially when we are not needing to stay in our conscious minds to defend ourselves in any way, such as if the massage is deeper than is comfortable or if the speed of the massage is keeping us alert and conscious rather than supporting drifting down deep.

Then just use any basic induction techniques ( they all involve various combinations of imagination and slight, non-threatening confusion, as well as suggestion one the rational mind and nervous systems have gone to 'sleep'. If you have any specific questions hit me up, I love this stuff!

        all good things,

        Heron
