Hello all. Just joined as I am curious about this whole phenom (for lack of a better term). Curious about what people's thoughts are on a tape that I have received and have placed onto my ipod and have been using. It is a series of "suggestion" sessions (hypnotherapy?) that is to help you work on your approach to your "whole body," memory recall and that CA Bar Examination. I used it while doing the WA Bar, which I passed, and found that, after the bar, I felt like I "missed" the voice in the sessions (Weird, yes). I have begun doing it again today for the CA Bar which is in about 10 days ... and fell "asleep". The only reason I use that term is because I am unable to tell if I am asleep or in another state, but I woke up approximately 10 minutes after the session ended - although this wasn't always the case when I did the sessions last time around.
Curious about anyone perceptions/thoughts on this sort of thing. Suggestions for increasing its effectiveness, etc. Thanks!

Re: Hypnotherapy and the Bar Examination
Fri, July 20, 2007 - 12:04 AMHi Sarah. Yes, sometimes you'll "fall asleep" or fall asleep... but a good clue that you're benefiting from hypnosis is that you're waking 10 minutes after the recording stops. There may be a suggestion at the end for becoming alert.
Good luck on the Bar--I'm sure you'll do fine! --Kathy
